Vacuum
Bag:
Fibers are wet out with a liquid resin in
or out of the mold depending on the part
and cores are added where specified. Depending
on the application peel plies, release films,
and breathers are used along with a bag
film to consolidate, compress and to remove
excess resin and unwanted air. High quality
parts can be achieved through this method
in reasonably high volume production runs.
Resin
Infusion (out-of-autoclave):
Fibers are placed in the mold dry, cores
are added where needed. Vacuum is applied,
once vacuum has reached full vacuum with
no leaks resin is pulled through the fabric
impregnating while evacuating any remaining
air out. This process leaves the part with
a very low air and resin content, high fiber
fraction. Benefits are great cosmetics,
light weight and vastly stronger compared
to hand layup parts.
Prepreg:
Fibers have been pre-impregnated at specific
resin content by a pre-preg manufacturer.
Material is cut to very specific shapes
and placed in to the mold by sticking it
to the surface. Usually vacuum de-bulks
will be applied throughout the lamination
to consolidate plies and remove excess air.
Once lamination is complete part goes under
full vacuum and gets post cured at specific
ramps and soaks. Pre-preg produces a very
high quality, high volume fraction, low
air content, precise and repeatable part
with excellent cosmetics. Pre-preg is very
good for parts that need very specific fiber
location and high strengths.
Panels:
We can make any kind of composite panels
for structural, cosmetic, and veneers. Carbon
fiber, Kevlar, and Fiberglass along with
foam and honeycomb cores are readily available.
Other fibers, specific modulus, and cores
can be requested. Our process for panels
includes, but not limited to Prepreg, infusion,
multi-chamber out-of-autoclave infusion,
and vacuum bag oven cured.
Plug/Tool
making:
We can construct plugs and tools for almost
any application whether it is a low-cost
mold for prototyping or low production runs,
low CTE Metal tooling to a high temp high
volume thermally stable carbon epoxy prepreg
tools. We have the ability to machine plugs
or hand fabricated from scratch. Our experienced
staff can meet your needs.
Design:
We utilize CAD design programs to design
components, plugs and tools to ensure a
high quality component, just what the customer
asked for. Our designers have many years
using CAD programs in the automotive composites
industry. We can efficiently design, machine
and produce high quality parts with short
lead times. Email
